Facilitation Skills
From Presentation to Facilitation
From Presentation to Facilitation is a facilitation skills workshop for the people who run trainings, onboarding, demos, onsites, and high-stakes working sessions: anyone who needs the room working rather than listening. They learn to design and lead a session, keep a discussion moving without losing the room, rescue a room that has gone flat, and move a group to a decision.
Facilitating is like hosting a party. You aren’t the entertainment. Your job is keeping the conversation going.
Built for the people who became trainers by being good at the job. The production lead now running customer success. The engineer now running onboarding. They already know the material better than any outside trainer would, and they’re usually natural teachers. What they were never given is the technical craft.
That craft is learnable, and it’s the difference between a session people sit through and one they take something out of.
Built for teams running trainings, onboarding, demos, and high-stakes working sessions.
Presenting or facilitating
They aren’t the same job.
You have the floor
Opening strong, structuring a message, and delivering it so people remember it. The room is listening to you. That’s Hooked from Hello.
The room has the floor
Managing energy, handling difficult dynamics, and moving a group to a decision. Your job is what happens between other people. That’s this workshop.
Most teams need both eventually. Almost everyone starts with presentation skills.
Tell me how much time you have.
I’ll recommend a length, or build to the window you already have. Longer sessions are more reps, not more slides. Here is what changes as the session grows.
With more people, the attention per person goes down but the interaction doesn’t. I move it into breakouts: small groups still practice, still get live coaching, still ask the specific question they came with. They work through real scenarios, debrief how they would actually use it, try it on each other, and leave with a plan to use it again. Tell me the headcount and I’ll tell you what shape it takes.
“Putting the difference between presenting and facilitating in laymen’s terms at the beginning gave us all an ah-ha moment for how we can make shifts in the way we lead our sessions.”

From Presentation to Facilitation
The things people ask first.
What is the difference between presentation skills and facilitation skills?
Presentation skills are for when you have the floor: opening strong, structuring a message, and delivering it so people remember it. Facilitation skills are for when you’re guiding a room where other people are talking: managing energy, handling difficult dynamics, and moving a group to a decision. Most teams need both eventually. Almost everyone starts with presentation skills.
Can we take both workshops?
Yes, and many teams do. They can be taught as one connected program or booked separately. If several teams need the same workshop, a pack is usually the cheaper route. See pricing.
How interactive is it?
Very. It involves being called on, which is the point. Not to put anyone on the spot, but to make sure everyone is included and it isn’t a lecture or a slide deck. Ninety minutes is the shortest useful version for exactly that reason.

Tell me who the team is and what you want them doing differently. I build the session around those answers, and then read the room on the day.
